We are a dedicated Darlington based dentist team in a relaxed, friendly environment with modern, up to date surgeries providing treatment for all the family. We all believe that prevention and maintaining the foundations of the teeth is at the heart of successful dentistry. Our team of dentists work closely with our hygienist and use the highest quality materials to provide personalised dental care.

We are highly skilled in providing all the care you need, whether it is routine fillings, extractions, cosmetic dentistry, crowns, bridges or dentures, whilst carefully maintaining and monitoring the health of your supporting gums, tissues, and bone. We have a close relationship with specialist practices for orthodontic, sedation or implant referrals when required.

As principals of the practice, Simon and Helen Holguin, are Denplan Excel accredited. This means we have frequent and regular assessments in the practice to ensure our standards of care, including maintenance and cross-infection are of best practice and up to date.
We are happy to see patients in the manner that suits them best, from one off treatments to a registration based scheme within the practice. At all times the practice aims to help the patient receive quality, comfortable care suitable for their needs in a reassuring, relaxing, friendly environment. We run early morning and evening appointments for your convenience.

History of the practice

Victoria Dental Practice has been caring for its patients in Darlington for over one hundred years. In 2003 Simon and Helen Holguin became principals of the practice, keen to provide high quality dentistry designed for the individual’s needs.

There have been many changes over the years to keep pace with modern methods, attitudes and treatments, but at all times the relationship with our patients has been a priority. Families have grown, children then bring their children, with new generations becoming established in the practice. We are often told practice stories of decades ago and even before the Second World War. It is this continuity through quality of care we strive to maintain.

Our ethos and commitment

To ensure that our care maintains the highest possible standards, with the flexibility needed to treat each patient as a unique individual, we became independent of the N.H.S. in 2006. We now commit ourselves privately to the patients in our care. We are happy to see patients in the manner that suits them best, from one off treatments to a registration-based scheme within the practice. At all times the practice aims to help the patient to receive quality, comfortable care, suitable for their needs in a reassuring, relaxing, friendly environment. We run early morning and evening appointments for your convenience.

I have anxiety when it comes to the dentist due to having a few issues regarding my teeth but Helen is amazing, I can’t thank her enough for her patience and understanding. I highly recommend this dental practice. The staff are all extremely kind and friendly. Jayne is always happy to help and goes above and beyond. I now leave the dentist feeling confident and reassured not upset and worried like I used to in the past. Went in worrying my teeth were not fixable and came out over the moon. James is an amazing my dentist and help me explore all my options in my treatment, now I have more confidence 😀 would recommend anyone to go there.

I used to be quite anxious about dental work however Simon has been fantastic in helping me manage my anxiety through taking time to explain, patience and re assurance. I am no longer anxious and quite look forward to my visits. I would highly recommend this practise. Staff are professional, supportive and thorough.

I recently had to have an extraction, the prospect of which made me feel very anxious. When I arrived at the surgery, Helen, as always was very reassuring and talked me through the whole procedure, which went as planned. I have been a patient with Victoria Road dental practice for a number of years & felt it was about time I gave some feedback. The first point to note is how clean the practice is, never even a speck of dust anywhere. The staff are warm, friendly & professional. You can tell the staff genuinely care about you & the way they look after you/ the treatment they provide. I have had some serious health issues recently & went in to see one of the hygienists yesterday & she picked up on how I was feeling & went above & beyond her requirements as a dental professional. She provided an exceptional bedside manner as well as giving my teeth a wonderful clean with advice for self help care. Thank you to James, Jayne, Natalie & Angelina-you all make a potentially nervous experience so much more comfortable. I have no hesitation in recommending this dental practice, 10/10.
